Sorry about the short notice guys but it’s that time of year again …… Junior Paddlefest 2014 is being held on 19, 20 & 21 September at Hidden Valley Campsite, Rathdrum Co. Wicklow.
Junior Paddlefest is now the largest junior event on the Irish Canoeing calendar and as of last year.
It tries to let juniors try out all the different kayaking disciplines in a safe and fun way.
If you are not registered already, there are still some spots left.
So this is it the last weekend before the big event. This is a great opportunity to learn or refresh your River safety skills. There will be paddling and plenty of swimming on this weekend so participants will need to make sure you bring your paddle and boat plus as much warm gear as they can and prepare for full River Safety and Rescue immersion. Please be sure to check out this link.
The Paddlesurf Ireland training weekend for the Club champs will be held at Tramore Strand in Waterford. We will be meeting here at 10.am on both days. There will be a number of surf boats and wave skis for participants to use over the weekend so all you need to bring is your usual paddling. If you have your own surf boat and wave ski please feel free to bring these along. For more details and to register check out this post
The pool will go ahead from 7-8 this Friday (February 21, 2014) but will not be on the following week February 28, 2014 and weeks following will be from 7-8 unless we are informed otherwise. Helmets as always must be worn in the pool and there is no seal launching in.
They are here get them while they are hot!!! Collection is available from Mairead on any Sunday trip or if you need it more urgently for a competition we can text you the number.
OPEN to all our club members, the sessions are 8-9pm on Tuesdays.
As the pool is small it may require a rotation basis over the hour (hour +) so we have agreed a flat fee of €5 per session per person regardless of numbers on the respective night. Payment can be made via transfer to the club account (if you need details please let me know) or cash if transfer is not possible.
Please remember a kayak helmet or swim cap is REQUIRED !
